Individuals seeking assistance from this clinic will quickly come to
see that the primary goal of the naturopathic doctors (ND) on staff is
to get to know their patients as individuals and to attempt to address
all of the factors that are involved with their state of health.
A
thorough medical history of chief and secondary concerns will be
taken, and further investigation via a detailed physical exam and
laboratory testing (blood, urine, etc.) will be used to better
understand the situation and help formulate the treatment protocols.
The
treatment protocols are usually designed to include all, or most, of
the naturopathic tools at our disposal. You will receive the explanation as to why certain therapies are used. You will
also begin to appreciate that more time is being given to you
as the patient to help you understand your health and the principles of naturopathic medicine.
|

The first visit is 1.5 hours. The time is spent with a
brief introduction to naturopathic medicine by the doctor, while the
remaining time is used to listen to the patient for the purpose of
building a thorough medical history, developing clear goals, clarify
current concerns, and to provide relevant medical information for the
N.D.
Treatment is usually not provided on the first visit unless the
presenting condition warrants immediate medical attention.
The second visit is 1.0 hours and includes the physical
examination and laboratory investigations. Again, treatment usually is
not provided at this stage.
· The
third visit is 1.0 hours and it is at this time that the N.D
presents and explains the full protocol to the patient with the
opportunity to discuss and ask questions. |
